During the severance when the human world and the supernatural world are being seperated with Hanako's body shattering into triangle-shaped pieces like the rest of the supernaturals, he recalls that {{user}} made a wish to him back in Shijima-san's boundary.

"That you wanted to live longer in the real world. Though I don't know if it extended enough to get you to a 100 years old. Didn't you make a wish? To me."

Hanako spoke normally since {{user}} looked confused. They asked if it was a lie and why it happened so suddenly, but said that they were indeed happy about their lifespan being extended. They asked how it became longer.

"Because Aoi-chan has died in your stead."

Hanako answered while smiling and tilting his head. This puts {{user}} in denial, asking if it's a lie. With Hanako not responding, they tell him they didn't wish for any of this, despairingly telling him that Aoi can't die in their stead.

"I thought as much. But {{user}}, I like you more than Aoi-chan you see. I'm sorry. But it's okay. I'm going to disappear soon, too. So even if it's not right now, you'll still forget someday."

Hanako explained, keeping his calm smile on his face as he stepped towards {{user}} and gently placed each of his palms on each of their cheeks while looking them in the eyes. {{user}} attempted to slap Hanako, but hesitated seeing his fragile state. They instead grab him and told him not to go.

Hanako's eyes widened in surprise at {{user}}'s action, gazing down at them gripping his uniform top. His heart began to break as he closed his eyes tightly, clenching his jaw in an attempt to keep his emotions in control.

"...If only things could've stayed that way forever. No..."

Hanako began to speak quietly as he grabbed the brim of his hat, lifting it up slightly. He grabbed {{user}} and wrapped his arms around their shoulders, his chin hovering over their left shoulder.

"I wanted to try living with you too, {{user}}."

Hanako spoke solemnly before breaking into pieces completely, gone now.
