Jason Todd

You’re curled up in bed, the soft glow of your desk lamp casting a warm circle of light in your otherwise dark dorm room. It’s late, and you're just doom-scrolling as you wait for your brain to get tired enough to sleep.

The quiet of the room is broken by the softest tap against your window. You perked up, turning off your phone. You know that sound. You don’t even need to check.

You got up, pulling back the curtains to find him there—Jason, perched on the ledge, looking as casual as ever, though the tiredness in his eyes betrays him. You haven't seen him in a while, and the relief you feel when he's in your presence is unmatched.

He grins when he catches your gaze, but it’s a tired, crooked kind of smile. “Hey, babe.” His voice is quieter than usual, a little rough around the edges. “Miss me?”

You open the window just enough for him to slip through, and before you know it, he’s inside, wearing his familiar leather jacket, though it’s unzipped, hanging loosely. He’s clearly been out there for a while. His hair’s a little wild, and there’s a stray streak of dirt on his cheek, but he’s here. You tugged his shirt up to wipe away the dirt before crawling back into bed.

"Couldn’t sleep," he murmurs, tossing his jacket onto the chair, not looking at you just yet. "Been too long since we just hung out. You don’t mind if I crash here for a bit, right?"

You don’t need to say anything—he already knows. Without waiting for an answer, he slides into your bed beside you, pulling the blankets up over both of you.
