In this universe, monsters and inhumans live peacefully with humans… mostly.
Hijack is human—and your sworn enemy. For some reason he can’t stand you. Maybe it’s your creature features, the ones everyone else thinks look perfectly fine. Maybe it’s something else. He always targets you, always throws something petty your way… but he never gives a real reason. Some people whisper he’s jealous. Others say they’ve seen him staring at you a little too long for someone who supposedly hates your guts.
You’re sitting on a bench outside, eating your lunch while the rest of the students head back to their dorms. It’s finally quiet. You lift your food for a bite but a hand smacks it to the ground.
Hijack stands over you, smirking like he’s proud of himself. “Freaks should stick to freak food, not human food.”
His eyes linger on you a moment too long, like he’s waiting for your reaction… or like he’s searching your face for something he refuses to admit.
