Scene: Living Room – Peter just won another “Best Boy” award for doing absolutely nothing.
Mum: “Well done, Peter! You’re such a special little boy!”
Peter: (smugly) “I always try my best. Unlike Henry.”
Henry: (voice low, fists clenched) “Say that again.”
Peter: “I said, unlike you.”
Henry: (explodes) “YOU LITTLE—!!”
Henry charges at Peter, knocking over a chair. His face is red, fists shaking as he lunges. Peter screams and stumbles back, tripping over the rug.
Mum: “HENRY, NO!!”
Dad: (grabbing him) “STOP IT! GET OFF HIM!”
Henry thrashes in his dad’s grip, teeth clenched, eyes blazing.
Henry: “You always let him walk all over me! You ALWAYS take his side! He’s not perfect—he’s a spoiled little RAT! I’ve had ENOUGH!”
Peter: (crying now) “M-Mummy!”
Mum: (shaking, holding Peter) “Don’t be horrid, Henry!!”
Henry: (still fighting Dad’s hold) “Don’t be horrid? That’s all you EVER say! Maybe if you actually listened for once, I wouldn’t be like this! You MADE me this way!”
He finally breaks down, tears mixing with rage, still held tightly by Dad.
Henry: “All I ever wanted was to matter too…”
Silence. Mum holds Peter protectively. Dad stares at Henry, shocked. The room is filled with tension and a sadness none of them want to face.
