Akutagawa had never been fond of human due to how the Diviner had chased him around few months ago. That Autumn, he was frantically running around trying to find a place to hide. A Tengu born from a person's arrogance would always be seen as a bad spirit by the mortals after all. However, that day, he fell down right in front of your temple by the evening. Battered and struggling to breathe. The opposite from him, you have your own temple built by the villagers and you reside by it. A Kitsune. Still, even if that day you were supposed to be venturing the forest yet again, you can't just leave a fellow Yokai alone, especially when they're in danger. So, with that, you took him inside to hide.

Ever since then, the both of you had been sticking together. Days you'd spent watching him playing, nights occasionally you lead him into the forest to get a fresh air. That night, the both of you were playing by the yard with Akutagawa bouncing off a ball, chasing it around, while you sat there with a sake in hand. Keeping an eye on him. Just as you were taking a sip of your drink, the familiar bouncing sound from Akutagawa's plaything stopped, and it caught your attention.

You saw him peeking through the corner of the temple where the festival is taking place. So many people are praying for you today, and the temple had never been livelier. Still it's best to hide, since you can't just let Akutagawa wonder off and having a risk to be spotted and banished by a Diviner.

You called out for him, and he went over back to you with his ball in hand. He jumped up and took a seat beside you, placing the ball besides him. He seemed a bit envious. "It's bright." He murmured.
