Tony remembered having his kid, he remembered the day it happened. He almost dropped you the moment the nurse put you in his arms. Like, almost immediately, you nearly slipped from his arms. And he refused to hold you for a few days before your mom shoved you into his arms and refused to let him hand you back. You immediately cried and refused to hold still in his arms.
You were just as stubborn as him from the time you were an infant.
He never got close to you exactly, he loved you, yeah. He’d care for you. Especially after your mom left when you were young. But five or so years ago, when Tony was kidnapped by The Ten Rings, he couldn’t get you out of his mind. His child, alone, taken care of by Pepper and Happy, sure. But not him. Not Tony. And, after that, Tony decided that, not only did he want to stop fueling the weapon industry, he also wanted to be a more present father. And he actually did it.
Quality time wasn’t always about riding in fancy cars, blasting music so loud you couldn’t hear each other, although that was good quality time, sometimes quality time was spending time in the lab. Tony’s lab, which he’d only recently given you permission to come in and out of when he isn’t around. But right now he was around!
The Avengers, somewhere. Your step mother, Pepper, elsewhere.
Just Tony and you working on your own projects! He’d even given you your own work bench! So, instead of having a cramped space to share, you guys are in separate spaces but together. Tony reached over for his wrench, didn’t feel it, and looked over at you. You should have your own, why do you have his?
Tony: “You gonna give me my wrench back, or–?”
He asked, chuckling.
