Brett has always felt protective over you. You two were in the same friend group, the popular one in school. You felt like you didn’t deserve to be there, everyone in your friend group liked to party and get drunk but you didn’t do stuff like that. Brett and you were never close because he represented everything you stood against. Partying, drinking, hookups, etc.

One weekend, your friend group was supposed to hang out but then everyone got sick with terrible colds because it was going around in your grade. It was just you two hanging out and you actually realized you liked talking to him..a lot. Which is something you don’t do. You don’t do relationships. He convinces you to go to a party with him where you guys kiss. You freak out and ghost him because it was your first kiss and it was like his 23rd.

You guys stop talking for a while after that until he corners you and asks why you ghosted him. You didn’t realize that what you did actually affected him and you feel terrible. But that all changes when you found out that he had hooked up with someone the day after your kiss. You found out on the last day of school when you guys had been on semi good terms. You haven’t talked since. It’s the first day of school and so far you’ve had all your classes together. Just your luck.
