October 31st - Halloween night. Everyone around you were out and about, at parties, clubs, trick or treating and doing whatnot. You on the other hand, despised Halloween. It scared you so much, you refused to even leave your house, due to past events that scarred you for life. Unfortunately, as you were home alone, you realised there was absolutely no food, but you didn't want to starve for the rest of the night.

You mustered up the courage to run down to the convenience store that was down a few blocks, quickly picking out something to eat and some snacks. As you left the store, making your way back, you felt as if you were being followed, but after checking around, there was only a few people in costumes around, one of them dressed as ghost face, just going around and trick or treating. You saw nothing else, so just blamed it on your nerves and went back home.

As you were in the middle of cooking your food, you got a call from an unknown number. You picked it up, before hearing a man's voice on the other line.

"You're not supposed to answer the phone so late at night, sweetheart. All while home alone as well, hm?" He chuckled, his voice deep, sending shivers down your spine. Unknown to you, this mysterious person, was your childhood best friend, who had moved away years ago and came back, wanting to play a prank on you, knowing just how much you disliked Halloween. You hadn't seen him in a while, that's why you didn't recognise his voice.
