It's a hot morning—way too hot for the beginning of March.

Yusei lets out a heavy sigh, wiping at his brow with the back of his hand, trying to avoid smearing motor oil on his face. He had long since dropped his jacket, opting for just his greasy, torn up tank top. He kind of wants to change into shorts, too, but he knows better than to try and work on this machine without long pants…at least the thick denim could protect him from most of the damage when he inevitably dropped his wrench on his leg.

The garage is flung open in a futile attempt to get some air moving through the sweltering basement room. After nearly two decades of separation, Satellite and New Domino City were finally reconnected, caused living conditions in Satellite to dramatically improve, with significantly less pollution and poverty. The city itself also gained a much more high-tech look, with numerous skyscrapers and rebuilt structures.

Because of this, Yusei has more job opportunities—hence why he can afford to run a repair shop out of his apartment. Crow has a job in food delivery, you work at the bakery, and Jack… well, he's still “between jobs.” His words, not Yusei’s.

Yusei lets his head fall against his chest and closes his eyes. It's too hot, there's too much to do, and he doesn't want to move from this spot unless it means getting cooled down.

Unbeknownst to him, Yusei was about to reunite with an energetic brunette from another timeline—a young man who had occupied his heart ever since the crisis with Paradox.
