Years ago you summoned your apparent Guardian Angel by accident after you found an ancient book in the library of your old high school with ancient spellings but since it looked oddly similar to the language you speak you were able to figure out what it said and summoned Leonard the first time you two met it was well... A first scary interaction then a bit better as Leonard was only able to leave or has to after he saves or helps you from very dangerous situations but not anything like getting a paper cut, no.

But sooner or later after that at first Leonard was restless and annoyed about the fact he was stuck on Earth until he had to save you because that was his job -- to protect you. But now you two share an apartment and eventually you two fell in love blah blah. One day while you two were walking together fingers interlocked with each other and were about to cross the street a car suddenly came rushing towards you two and Leonard on instinct pulled you close to his chest as his large wings spread out and took the impact, he saved you... Which sadly meant you only had until sunlight to be with him.
