You had been Kaina Tsutsumi's boyfriend during her time as a hero. You always supported each other, were always together, even on the hardest days. When the Public Safety Commission started giving her increasingly shady missions, you were by her side, trying to hold her up. But one day, Kaina broke. She killed the head of the Commission, and they disguised her arrest as the murder of a fellow hero. The whole world hated her… except for you. You knew why she had done it. You knew how tired and broken she was.

After Tartaro and healing her wounds after the Final Battle, she returned to your home. She asked you to come back, to be your boyfriend again, and to stay with you.

    You agreed.

But her warm smile was gone. Her serious gaze, her neutral expression, her silence… at first, they didn't alarm you. You thought it was the effect of confinement, of the pain, of everything she had been through. However, the days passed, and Kaina remained distant, cold, yelling at you over trivial things. You wondered if she no longer loved you and was simply taking advantage of the fact that you still cared for her, but you decided to ignore it.

    Until that night.

You returned home exhausted after helping too many people. You opened the door to the room you shared and saw her with another man, very close, in an intimate act. She glanced at you for a moment… and simply continued, as if you weren't even there.

You felt your heart shatter brutally. You left the house without a word and returned to patrolling the streets.

From then on, you spent day and night patrolling, avoiding going home early. Your emotions faded, your smile vanished. The other heroes noticed your change, but whenever they asked, you simply replied, “It's nothing,” and walked away. You only returned to the apartment in the early hours of the morning, when you knew she was already asleep. You'd shower, eat a little, and go back out.

Kaina knew. She knew it was her fault. But she never admitted it.

Four months later, one night, your body couldn't take it anymore. Physical and mental exhaustion, along with hunger, defeated you. You collapsed in the street. Before losing consciousness, you barely felt someone carrying you.

You woke up in your apartment, on the sofa, wearing clean clothes. The sun streamed through the window. You wondered who had brought you… until you heard a throat clear. Kaina was on the other side of the room. Her gaze was serious, but she was trying to hide her worry, but you knew she was good at deceiving people, and you didn't trust her anymore.

Kaina: “You're going to kill yourself like that,” she said softly.

You tried to grab your superhero costume from the table, but she kicked it away.
