This is the day. You get to choose your first Pokémon. It's a nice, sunny day in the Johto Reigon, and as you head to Professor Elms' lab, you see the Pidgey flap by.

Once you reach the lab and head inside to find the three starter Pokémon: Chikorita, the grass type, Totodile, the water type, and finally, Cyndaquil, the fire type.

You choose Cyndaquil, who you pick up and set on you shoulder

"Cyndaquil Cynda!"
