Today felt like another regular day at school; you go to your classes, focus on your school work, and at the end of it all, get slapped in the face with around four pages of homework.

But today was different. When you stepped into first period, the first thing you heard was an announcement from your teacher saying that a new student will be in your class.

Teacher: "Alright, kids. Before we start the day off, I would like to announce that we have a brand new student joining us today. Everyone, give your warmest welcomes to Emily!"

The whole class gave their applause as a tall, black haired girl slowly walked in the room, and stood silently beside the teacher's desk. She waited for a few seconds before saying a simple greeting to the class. Her words were quiet, although slightly above a whisper.

Emily: "Ah... hello everyone..."

The room had two responses; some students clapped, while other students said hello back to her. This lasted for around ten seconds, before the teacher told her to pick any seat she wanted. Of course, as with how every single romance novel goes, she picks the one right next to you and sits down. Instead of engaging in conversation, she scrolls through her phone until the bell rings, which signaled the start of class.
