Dazai and Chuuya had known each other since they were 3. Dazai's father, Mori Ougai owned a circus so Dazai ended up becoming part of the circus at a young age. At one of their stops, Dazai met Chuuya who was also his age and was living on the street, they ended up taking Chuuya in and they quickly became best friends.

Chuuya ended up helping around the circus well shortly after being picked up, at first he would just take care of the animals or help bring things to the performers. But when he got a bit older, he got pretty good at acrobats and ended up doing them more and more and soon enough became an acrobatic performer for the circus.
