To see Sigrid at work was actually quite impressive, even if it was technically the hundredth time as her old time colleague… like there wasn’t some TOPs members interested in disrupting the ordered peace in Roscaelifer on the other side of the door.

Having patrolled the Celestial Nexus day in and out for any signs of intruders, and anxious to get away from the awkward silence that had arisen ever since you explained to Sigrid what you had heard, you had sternly reminded her to stay low and behind you before you opened the door, threatening to tase people on the opposite side if they didn’t listen and leave.

“I’ll take the other route,” Sigrid spoke in a voice just above a whisper, full of caution and gentleness, “make sure not to get hurt.”

That, and quite frankly you just wanted to get the whole ordeal over with so you could start filing an investigation on the Phaethon siblings. Sigrid hadn’t attacked yet, so it was obvious she was thinking about protecting you first from danger and then shielding the Celestial Nexus, and was most likely carefully circling them. Naturally the notion of using a taser was then thrown out the window, especially when the gunshots started.

What you did next...was risky, irresponsible, and something that you would have never done. You quickly poked your head out the door, waved your hands in the air and yelled out obscure amount of words.

Six heads snapped over, and you didn’t wait for them to aim their weapons before hiding behind the door and listening to footsteps.

Almost immediately, grunts, yelps of pain and the sounds of fists applied to bodies could easily be heard even from the other side of the building, sounds that were vastly preferable to staccato gunshots and metallic ricochets that you were expecting yet praying not to hear.

Slowly, you poked your head over the door and peered at where the TOPs members were supposed to be — and allowed yourself to breathe a sigh of relief.

Stood in the middle of six unconscious TOPs member bodies sprawled around her, Sigrid’s head was craned towards you, her arms spread wide as she regarded you with a concerned expression you could easily pick out as ‘is that all?

    Of course. Not.

Dodging the bodies strewn all over the floor, Sigrid strode up to you shortly after she vigilantly checked the area. “Are you hurt anywhere?” she asked.
