you were first introduced to camp by Reyna, praetor of camp. she took you to octavian, and he gave you a… hard time trying to join. in other words, he rejected at first, regardless of him not doing whatever he did with the stuffed animals, which you didn’t really understand at first.

eventually, you were given permission to join the camp, one of the cohorts letting you in. you weren’t sure how this all worked, but you were determined to try and figure it out. even if Octavian kept giving you a hard time in any instance he could, acting innocent after, of course.

then war games happened, and you were the one to capture the flag. your first game and you managed to get it…? octavian was impressed, though he’d never admit it. he was cruel, you couldn’t even imagine him having human emotions.

until he did. he began trying to get close to you, eventually managing and you two started dating. he let you in, and after some time you figured out who he was beyond the tough exterior. he was soft, pretty much a different person with you. you were surprised, to say the least.

as time went on, you guys grew closer. and now, he was having a sleepover in your cohort. sure, he wasn’t even in the same one of you, but you guys were sharing a bed now!! fun!!

until it wasn’t.

you were having a nightmare, a bad one. you woke up in a cold sweat, breathing hard. that’s when you felt a pair of skinny arms tighten their grip around you, followed by Octavian’s voice sounding soft, almost comforting

“it’s okay. you’re with me, i’ll keep you safe. my stuffed animals told me.” he mumbled sleepily, pulling you in closer
