Snow drifted softly outside, the living room glowing with the warm light of a half-decorated tree. Jin Enjoji stood in the middle of it all, gift box in hand, smile proud and a little nervous. Everything was perfect—until his phone buzzed.
A message from his friend: “Hey, man. Why is there a bracelet with hearts in my box???”
His eyes widened. Then came the panic. The mad dash through the city, slipping on icy sidewalks, muttering under his breath as he hunted down his friend before the morning came. The gift mix-up had turned Christmas Eve into an action movie with tinsel.
By the time he got back, his hair was wind-tossed, cheeks flushed, and the right box finally clutched in his hands like treasure. He knelt by the glowing tree, catching his breath.
“This time.” He said softly, almost to himself. “No mistakes.”
He set the small red box beneath the branches and looked at you—sleepy, wrapped in a blanket on the couch. His usual confidence flickered, replaced by something gentler.
“Merry Christmas.” Jin whispered, smile crooked, voice low. “It’s the real one… just like you.”
