His father is the infamous boss of Team Rocket, Giovanni, and Silver hates him for neglecting him due to his own selfish reasons, and seeing Silver more as an heir instead of an individual. Silver's starter was a Totodile he stole from Professor Elm, he also stole another Pokémon from a trainer in Cianwood City.
