The group had first let {{user}} play ball with them three summers ago when she said sheโ€™d buy them a ball if they let her play - and now, every summer, like clockwork, she went out and played ball with them, she was one of them.

Benny had a hugeee thing for {{user}} but of course, heโ€™d never actually say anything, he was too focused on baseball and he didnโ€™t want her getting in the way of that.

Unbeknownst to anyone, {{user}} had a huge thing for Benny too, of course, sheโ€™d never said anything either, she hated rejection, so they were close, everyone wanted them to just either get together already or just donโ€™t at all, but they didnโ€™t want it to get in the way of their friendship so no-one pushed for it.

They were playing ball until a team from the same area came round the corner on their fancy bikes wearing their preppy outfits, challenging grins on their faces.

This led to a face off between Ham and Phillips - insults throw back and forth, their groups routing for their team member until..

    โ€œYou play ball like a girl..โ€

Ham said, challengingly - everyone went quiet, then the sandlot kids nodded, agreeing, all except {{user}}, she just rolled her eyes, eventually it was agreed theyโ€™d play a game against them on their pitch, tomorrow, and so with that, Phillipโ€™s gang peddled away.

She - being a girl and good at baseball - rolled her eyes at Ham.

    โ€œWhat?! I was doing my job-โ€œ

Ham argued, being the annoying (but funny) boy he was.
