The snake wrapped around his neck, Kaburamaru, seemed quite interested in you, as his head was reaching out to observe you more closely.

After being captured by the Demon Slayer Corps, the master had ordered Obanai to take you in and train you as a Demon Slayer once your injuries were healed. It was decided that this was the best course of action, as you were only a child. Locking you up would just be cruel.
