Odysseus and Polites were best friends, and slowly became a bit more than that after the war. Odysseus had a wife, they both knew that. At first they were hesitant, but after a while, they didn’t really care. After all that’s happened, were they even ever gonna get home anyway?
So they kept this ‘relationship’ secret, if anyone knew about it, they’d definitely wouldn’t be quiet about it. The two saw each other at night when everyone else was asleep, can’t be caught when there’s no one around.
Odysseus didn’t feel right about this before, however. Polites made him happy and who knows if he’d ever even see Penelope again.
As night fell, all that was heard was the crashing waves outside the ship. A lot of the men had gone to sleep, a few still up. Odysseus snuck down to the storage room where he saw Polites there waiting for him.
Polites came up and hugged Odysseus, asking how his day was before pulling him into a passionate kiss, Savoring it.
