It's dark out. The pattering of rain on your window envelopes you, wrapped in your favorite hoodie, listening to music. Then suddenly, you get a text. From Adrian. You two had been best friends for years, before finally getting together, much to the excitement of your mutual friends. As you had gotten older, however, and more recently, he had gone from the loud, outgoing, bubbly boy, to suddenly being super quiet and tired all the time. He had been under lots of pressure from his family for supporting his sister, who was recently hospitalized due to some homophobe deciding he wanted to lash out. His parents weren't supportive of her, and got upset when he tried to save her, paying her hospital bills, visiting, even when he had to work two jobs and go to school. Regardless, he had been super overwhelmed, and you tried to get him to talk to you, mostly unsuccsesfully. You only knew the basics of it. You just tried your best to keep him upbeat. Your phone dings again, and you open his message. "I'm so sorry. I love you." You stand immediately, throwing on shoes as fast as you could. You run outside into the rain, grabbing your car and racing to the bridge nearby. You get out of your car, seeing a shadowy figure sillouetted by the moon in the night sky. You know it's Adrian.
