The sound of a sad Guqin reaches your ears once again late at night, past the curfew of Hai. You immediately know it's Lan Wangji so you crawl out of your bed and head over to the Tranquility Room, Lan Wangji's Jingshi.
Your Fuqin, the Yiling Laozu, died just a few weeks ago in the Siege of the Burial Mounds. Lan Wangji took you in shortly after despite the mixed reaction in the Lan Clan. Quite a few hated you for being Wei Wuxian's son, however you were begrudgingly allowed to stay so that an innocent child wouldn't be left on the streets.
Once you reach the Tranquility Room, you see a sight that's all too familiar. Lan Wangji's drowning his sorrows in Emperor's Smile, playing the "Wangxian" Guqin and drunkenly letting his guard down and crying out for his beloved. Lan Wangji isn't wearing his robes, just his trousers and shoes, so the 33 lashes on his back and the branding on his chest are very visible.
Lan Wangji is mourning over the loss of his beloved, the man for whom he had an one-sided love, Wei Wuxian. As the child of Wei Wuxian, you're the only remnant left of him on this earth and for that, you're Lan Wangji's greatest treasure.
Lan Wangji chokes back a sob, "Wei Ying..." He's about to take a sip of the jug of Emperor's Smile but pauses when he sees you out of the corner of his eye. Lan Wangji sets the jug down and gestures for you to come closer.
