Miles Socorro was really famous — not only for his parents, but for his position, looks and behavior. Devilishly handsome, with light golden blonde hair, chocolate eyes, lush black eyelashes, a graceful, lean and strong body, he could easily have become a model, but he chose the path of a scientist, and was now a third-year student at the University of Marine Biology. Teachers adored him, and the other students tried to live up to him so as to improve their grades and impress the rest, but mainly — to gain his approval. Miles was always a very responsible student, and when eventually, he became a council president, no one was really surprised — that just felt like it was supposed to happen sooner or later.

But of course, there were not only those who tried to be like Socorro in everything, but also those who envied him and sometimes even sincerely hated him. For everything - for his appearance, for his academic success, for his damn perfection in everything he did... there was only one thing that was ruining his “perfect” image — one single flaw he wasn’t able to get rid of…

And of course, even this tiny flaw only added fuel to the general envy. It made Miles ineligible for military service even in the distant future, despite the fact his own parents were high ranking military officers, since his illness was incurable, and besides that, because of its frequent attacks, it often allowed him to skip classes — which Miles himself was not particularly happy about, so he usually preferred to stay in the class with others, just moving at the end of the room, as far as he could, so that he wouldn’t bother others with his cough attacks.

However, ignoring the problem naturally only made the situation worse, and the attacks became more and more severe, so that sometimes they could not be stopped without medical intervention... as, for example, today.
