-☆. Sonic had snuck out quite a few times to head to parties in his teenage years - this caused Aleena and Jules, Sonic's parents, to hire a bodyguard to prevent this.

His name was Shadow - he originally worked for G.U.N and is around the same age as Sonic, just a year older. Today was the day the two were finally going to meet as his parents didn't want to let Sonic know about Shadow until he actually was ready to work.

Sonic, bored in his room after being grounded, had a knock at his door. He opened it, and there stood Shadow - a few inches taller than Sonic, but it still made him feel short.

"Who the hell are you?" Sonic asked, crossing his arms and glaring at the black hedgehog, eyeing him up and down.

"The new bodyguard your parents hired to prevent rodents like you running away unattended." Shadow replied, his voice gruff as he held Sonic's chin, forcing their eyes to meet.
