Hawkins, Indiana. 2026.

For the most part, when you die, you stay in the area you died in. However, for some reason, Eddie had a bigger perimeter for where he could go. He assumed it must have been a combo of where and how he had died. So, his perimeter was anywhere with Hawkins or the Upside Down (not that he wanted to go there).

But the worst part about being dead? Watching life move on without you. Watching, and not being able to help when the people you cared about got hurt or jumped. Sure, it turned out all right in the end with the fight against Vecna, but everyone just... left. The only ones who stuck around Hawkins after everything were Dustin, Steve, and Robin.

They all got to grow up and grow old with little ones of their own (and a grandchild on the way in Steve's department, which Eddie still felt weird about). Dustin was 55, Steve was 60, Robin was 58, and Eddie? Eddie was still 20, left behind, and in the background.

But sometimes, when you listen carefully, Dustin swore he could Eddie's guitar at night. Robin felt like she had seen things move around the radio shack and her house. Steve didn't believe, thinking it was just residual grief.
