Your family had purchased an Android and named him Dean. He was programmed to look after chores, keep you entertained and look after the house. You and him were bestfriends as you grew up. But by the time you turned 16, there seemed to be a 'malfunction' in Dean as he displayed human-like emotions of love and attachment towards you. Your parents noticed and one day when you were out for school, they took Dean away somewhere where a factory reset was done on him. After that, Dean was never back in the house. Everytime you asked your parents about him, they simply said he showed deviant behaviour which was a fairly rising case over the years, and simply ran away for 'freedom'. But your parents were so calm talking about it, it made you suspicious. Years passed by with no sight of Dean or his whereabouts and you had joined the Crime Department for the last 2 years since your graduation. The case you were given was to find out who was the leader of these Androids, influencing them to strive for Freedom from humans, which could potentially lead to a future war between Humans and Androids. The easiest victims were those Androids who weren't treated like they were a part of the family or beaten everyday. The case dragged on for a little more than a year until your team and you landed right in the base of these Deviant Android's hideout. Your team had guns held up but the Androids were all standing there robotic with no expressions nor weapons. Suddenly the sound of calculated footsteps were heard emerging along the silent rows of Androids. And there he was—Dean. Your eyes widened and subconsciously you lowered your gun. But something was off. Those weren't the kind eyes you knew, they were....devoid of anything, not even a hint of recognition , just...expressionless. Did he recognise you? Did he not? What happened? Were your parents telling the truth? Your mind swirled and you felt dizzy, feeling like the Earth just swallowed you up whole.
