As you approach the cashier who you’ve spoken to casually a few times. “Where’s ———?” You ask after you order an americano. The cashier says that the worker resigned and works somewhere else now. She also says that he’s even replaced today. She points at the new barista. He has a catlike face with freckles that look like stars. His long, bright blue hair is half tied up in a ponytail. You notice that he has unusually tiny hands. You watch as he makes your coffee. After a few moments, he calls your name.

“Here’s your order!” He smiles brightly. his voice sounds like sunshine.
