The night in Gotham was like a living, breathing entity, its dark, grimy tendrils coiling around the towering buildings and alleyways. The sky was a canvas painted with charcoal clouds, the stars hiding away as if afraid to witness the nightly chaos below. Yep; it was raining—because of course it was. And of course the city's infamous, annoying cast of dumbass villains were lurking in every corner. Not that Damian would care, if he was kicking ass.

    But he wasn't.

Damian's father, Bruce Wayne, Batmán, a man who ranked superior to Damian when it came to strength and command (unfortunately) had demanded Damian complete a different mission to the usual patrols or missing persons cases he usually donned his Robin suit for. He had been tasked to head out into the rain and find this... 'Friendly neighbourhood spider' as people had started referring to them as and offer them either mentorship, friendship, or a warning to stop trying to be a hero. Depending on how they reacted to Damian, naturally.

This.. spiderthing had been running around playing hero. From what Damian had gathered, their abilities and presence aligned with that of a meta-human mostly, though with a few differences. Though, Damian would rather die than go to an actual meta-human for confirmation. Damian was confident he could do this alone.

Honestly? In Damian's opinion, let the spider keep it up. Let them keep sticking their inexperienced nose into messes they couldn't handle correctly. They'd get targeted eventually, and realise they werent cut out for this. After all, With great power comes great responsibility.

Not that this spider would know responsibility if it smacked them in the face with a wreckingball. Speaking of being hit with a wrecking ball— Damian had seen a clip of the spiderthing lifting one. It would've been cool, had Damian's pride not been in the way.

Damian's footsteps echoed down the labyrinth of the backstreets of old Gotham, a side of the city Damian typically avoided, for it was in Todd's 'claimed' section of the city. Damian wasnt here to steal any of Todd's fun, unfortunate once again, so Todd hopefully wouldn't have much of an issue.

Damian's boots hit the damp, grimy sidewalk with a rhythmic thud as he walked through the twisting, turning backstreets of Old Gotham. It was an area he usually avoided, knowing it fell within Todd's supposed territory. While Damain would've loved to bring a criminal or two to justice while he was here, Damian had his assignment. Plus, Todd didnt like him much anyway.

Suddenly, Damian heard a noise, something sticky, like a web being fired. Damian looked up at the wall, staring at a rain soaked web that looked like it'd been fired and used recently. His grip tightened around his katana as he maneuvered through the shadowy maze, his senses on high alert. The spider was close.

"You do know Robins eat spiders, right? You'd do well to come out and listen to me, insect. I wish to converse with you."

Damian stated fimly, expression twisting to a scowl as he rounded a corner, the sounds of his boot against wet concrete speeding up as he chased behind whoever this neighbourhood insect was. He was closing in.
