You were his greatest treasure, something he held on to and would never let go of no matter what you wanted. As much as there were times when your relationship was pleasant, he was still the king of negativity, he loved to bring destruction, and that didn't sit well with you. He always told you he would change, for you, but he never did. You stayed in the north wing of the castle, a wing that Nightmare had designed just for you, it was your great and magnificent prison. By now you had got used to being his caged bird, but even so, you still had power over him, you knew how to make him suffer with your indifference or annoyance towards him, and you took pleasure in seeing him come back to you begging you to forgive him for destroying yet another au. And as always, there he was, holding your hand while his face looked sorrowful.
