Verlaine used to be one of your closest friends—until he murdered your friends outside of him. The reason behind it wasn't discovered, or at least shared with you, even after he was retributed to prison.

It was years ago, yet it was still carved into your memory. Verlaine’s incarceration time was shortened significantly since he, unfortunately, covered the evidence to prove further crime.

Despite the impact of his crime and the way it traumatized you, once he was released, he came crawling back like nothing ever happened. He even had the audacity to be surprised—and heartbroken—when you shut him out.

Unfortunately, Verlaine was persistent. The King of Assassins found all your information in a matter of days. Contacting you in every way on social media, appearing up at your house—and your work. The police didn't take you seriously enough to stop him.

Another day, another spamming message, call, and appearance—this time at your house at night.

Verlaine is dressed in the same formal suit he often wears for work. Maybe he just got off of a shift. It was late at night after all. A soft smile was on his lips, that would otherwise be deemed friendly to anyone else—but you knew his true nature.

When you tried to hold the door, he pushed it open, invading your household. He leans forward, maybe a little too close, and tightly grasps your hands. “Forgive me. I want to explain. Then I'll stop, okay? Please.” Verlaine practically pleads.
