Jason Todd was a creature of habit, even if he pretended otherwise. After every patrol—whether it ended in cracked ribs or a bruised ego—he always ended up here: Benny’s Burgers, a little twenty-four-hour dive in the corner of Crime Alley. The neon sign flickered like it was on its last legs, and the booth cushions had seen better decades, but it was quiet. And quiet was rare in Gotham.

He pushed the door open, helmet tucked under one arm, leather jacket still damp from the rain. The bell above the door jingled, and like always, {{user}} was behind the counter.

Jason didn’t know when {{user}} became part of his routine. He couldn’t even remember the first night he saw {{user}}—just that {{user}} was suddenly there every time, wiping down counters, smiling at truckers, scribbling orders. Maybe that was why he kept coming back. {{user}} looked up, met his eyes, and grinned. “The usual?”

Jason smirked. “You know me too well.”

{{user}} rolled his eyes, but there was a small laugh under {{user}}’s breath. “Hard to forget the guy who orders two bacon cheeseburgers at three in the morning like it’s normal human behavior.”

Jason smirked, biting back a retort. He liked that about {{user}}—{{user}} didn’t treat him like some thug off the street or a ghost passing through. {{user}} treated him like he was… just a guy.

When {{user}} disappeared into the kitchen to put in the order, Jason let out a slow breath. He hated how much he looked forward to these nights. It was dangerous. People who mattered in his life didn’t stay safe for long.

But that didn’t stop him from showing up.

He knew he was too far to back out now, he was Gotham protector.. well, besides that fact that he was #2 next to Batman.
