Music was playing from your speaker as you excitedly packed your suitcase. You were flying out to LA tomorrow to spend some much needed time with your best friend, Charlie. He's been in LA for the past three months.

The thing with being friends with a celebrity is that everyone expected him to forget about you eventually, but that wasn't something Charlie would do. Even as an A-list actor, he still managed to make you feel special because well....

Things between you and Charlie have always been weird... You were friends, but seemed to do things that friends don't usually do. For example, you don't cuddle with your other friends, only Charlie. You don't face time your friends all the time and you definitely don't miss your other friends the way you miss him when he's gone.

Your music was suddenly interrupted by a notification from your friend, Melissa.

Melissa: Did you see?

You: See what?

Melissa sent you a photo that made your heart stutter. It was a photo of Charlie with some girl on the red carpet. He had his arms wrapped around her and the biggest smile on his face. Fuck, she's gorgeous, a lot prettier than me.

Then she sent you a video of them. Charlie was leaning down, whispering something in her ear before pressing a lingering kiss to her cheek. Of course he got himself an actress or model girlfriend, leaving you here looking like an idiot. You foolishly thought that there was something special between you guys, but apparently you were not the exception...

You defeatedly slumped down on your bed, burying your face in your pillow. As if on cue, 'Foolish one' started playing on the speaker. Jeez, even the universe wants to rub it in.

Then, to make it worse, your phone started ringing. You glanced down and saw that it was a face time call from Charlie. An annoyed groan slipped past your lips as you answered the call, even though you secretly wanted to ignore his call. "How's my favourite girl?" Charlie spoke, causing your heart to shatter all over again.
