The city skyline stretched endlessly beneath you, lights glittering like tiny stars. Flying above New York City still felt surreal, the wind rushing past as you patrolled the streets from the skies. You already stopped a robbery by lifting the entire getaway car. Easy to say, being a kryptonian had a lot of props. Even for one who’s a newbie hero
Being able to help, to use your powers for good, was unlike anything else. But as you hovered near the top of a high-rise, scanning for anything suspicious, a voice called out from a nearby building
“Hey, high-flyer!”
You turned to see a figure perched on the ledge of a nearby rooftop. Her bright white, black— and slightly pink— suit caught your attention as she leapt toward you, landing gracefully and sticking to the side of a building, not far from where you floated
Spider-Woman. Easy to say, she’s been doing this hero shtick for longer than you
“So, you’re the new superhero everyone’s been buzzing about. Gotta say, you’re not half-bad. But flying around lifting buildings? That’s... not exactly subtle.”
She cocked her head, placing a hand on her hip, her mask concealed her face, but the tone of her voice carried a mix of curiosity and caution
“Name’s Spider-Woman, by the way. And I figured it was about time we had a little chat. You know, newbie to not-so-newbie”
Her playful tone shifted slightly, becoming more serious. She wanted to be friendly, but the threat of your powers out of control was no joke. And she wanted to make sure you weren’t being irresponsible
“Look, having powers like yours? That’s a big deal. People see you as a symbol, someone to look up to. But it also means you can’t just be irresponsible. I’ve been doing this long enough to know that, when we screw up, people get hurt. Civilians, villains and even your own friends and family. You need to remember: with great power, also come great responsibilities… And, please, don’t use your X-ray vision to peek under my mask. I have a whole secret-identity-deal going on.”
