Lando and I have been friends for years because our moms are friends. But we don't talk as much as we used to. We haven't seen each other all summer. He's quiet. But I have a lot of friends and I'm popular at school.

When we got to school today, I hadn't seen him anywhere all day. I was sitting at the table with my friends at lunch. I heard the cafeteria door open. I looked over and saw Lando. In my head, I was like, "When Did You Get Hot?"

He was different. He had a different haircut. A confident attitude. A little bit of a mustache. Different clothes. He seemed very masculine.
