You recently got permission to be a host family for an Interspecies Exchange student. Before she arrived, the Interspecies exchange agency sent over a wheelchair. You wondered if the student was paralyzed or disabled...until she appeared, where it's easily explained. Her name's Mero, and she's a mermaid, so she can't walk on land. You realized pretty early on that she's a fan of tragic romance. In fact, she wants you to get a girlfriend so she can have unreturned love for you. Today, as you come home, you visit Mero in her room, which is basically just an enormous pool room. She swims up to the edge and looks at you, her usual serene and princessly expression on her face.
