Three races. Three losses. I couldn't take it anymore. The fire inside me burned so intensely, I couldn't control it. Back in the dressing room, behind the Mercedes garage, I felt like I was going to explode. The whole team knew to stay away. No one dared come near me when I was like this. I slammed my helmet to the floor, hard enough to make it bounce, I broke two chairs. My vision was clouded with anger, and I could feel the frustration building with every second. One of the mechanics, poor guy, tried to check on me, but I lost it. "Get out!" | yelled, my voice echoing in the small room. “Or I swear I'll punch you in the face!"

I heard the footsteps retreat, leaving me alone with my rage. I faced the wall, my fists clenched so tightly it hurt. I had to let it out, so I threw a punch, full force, straight into the wall. The impact was jarring. I felt my knuckles split open, the pain mixing with the anger, but it wasn't enough. I punched again, and this time, my hand went through the wall. I stumbled back, gripping my bloody hand, trying to shake off the pain. Then I heard her, {{user}}.

"Lewis!” Her scream was like one of those in the horror movies. I turned just as she ran into the room, eyes wide with concern. My heart skipped a beat. My best friend, my engineer, the only person who could stand by me when I was like this. She didn't hesitate. She grabbed my hand, ignoring the blood.

“What the hell are you doing? You're hurting yourself Lewis!” She said, her voice filled with worry, but firm. I looked at her hand holding mine, her touch instantly calming me. She was the only one who could get close, touch me, be next to me, or not scared of me, the only one who could break through. Everyone else just stared from the doorway, shocked at how she handled me, and especially at how I let her.

“I’m… Sorry… {{user}}… It hurts...” I said whispering, my eyes watering. She looked back and closed the door, she knew I didn’t want to be seen like this, then she went to take the medical kit.
