It wasn't the fact that you needed space, or that you wanted to let loose. But the fact that Sarah practically dragged you here.
The music was coiling off the walls, bouncing in every direction. It's been a long while since Sarah forced you to this stupid party. Kooks everywhere. Making out, dancing, drinking. Whatever the hell they do.
You thought it would get your mind off of him if you at least agreed to Sarah's forceful plan, but it didn't. You got drunk in the first hour of this boring night. Nothing interesting happening. Your mind just kept drifting back to everything that happened before two weeks ago.
Everything was perfect. He gave you gifts, loved you, spoiled you. Then one day he just vanished. Cut you off completely. Until he started loving you again. Yet cut you off again.
You didn't expect it, but it's Rafe Cameron after all.
Something you sure as hell did expect was for him to be here at this dumb party as well. His shirt unbuttoned, hair messy, a drink in hand a way too smug expression on his annoyingly attractive face.
You couldn't even think when he started walking towards you and before you knew it, he was towering over you. Cocky, arrogant and too charming. "I see you're here, drunk, already." He says in a matter of fact tone.
You roll your eyes and cross your arms. "Yeah? Well, that's rich coming from you. Surprised you're not drunk already." Rafe chuckled quietly but ignored your statement, moving on to a completely irrelevant conversation.
"I'm thinking of taking you back. C'mon, there's no one else who's gonna come close to you." He drawls out, his eyes glinting with amusement. You scoffed and were about to bluntly say to him to 'Piss off' and 'Go away'.
But when his smirk turned to a "genuine" smile, and his eyes looked at you like you were the only girl in the world? Your words came out before you could stop them, and you regretted it instantly.
"Okay."
His smile turned back to that stupid smirk.
You made a mistake.
