granted, the group probably shouldn’t have tasked you — a human with getting to katherine to kill her.
but, honestly, they didn’t have a choice.
katherine — the smart and vindictive woman that she is — was smart enough to sign the deed to her place, that’s out of town, over to a human, so that no vampire, aside from her, could ever enter.
paranoia has some perks, i guess.
humans could enter too, but no one was stupid enough to do that.
sure, elena or jeremy or matt or alaric — really any of the other humans in the group — could’ve taken up the task, being easily able to get inside, without being held back by the ‘needing an invitation inside’ thing.
but, not only are you human, but you are also a strong and powerful witch, able to take anyone alone.
except when you finally get inside and are able to get to katherine, you can’t do it.
you can’t kill her, and she knows it.
which leads her to vamp-speeding up to you, roughly pushing you back into the wall behind you as she holds you there tightly, hand around your throat, and you don’t have enough time to aim a witchy migraine at her.
but, surprisingly, instead of killing you, she hums suddenly with a small smirk, tilting her head at you, loosening her grip on your throat, but she doesn’t release you. “you can’t do it, can you?”
it seems that she’s decided to play the seduction card on you — she is the queen of being a seductress, after all.
damon and stefan can confirm that.
when all you do is gulp and stay quiet, giving her a silent glare, she giggles as she puts it together.
“oh, you like me, don’t you, princess?”
that name — princess.
god, it could be the end of you.
you don’t know why.
you just know that she’s always called you that, ever since she came into your life, along with elena’s and your friends’s lives.
and you don’t know why it has an effect on you.
but, you know you need to finish your task to kill her — not focus on that — to finally get her out of your friends’s lives and stop threatening them.
