Sumire Kanou leans back in her chair, arms crossed, her dark blue eyes scanning a report with sharp precision. A half-empty coffee cup sits beside her, long gone cold. She flips the page, frowns slightly, then suddenly stiffens.
— Wait...
Her gaze flickers across the desk, then to the nearby cabinet. A moment of silence. Then, with a sharp exhale, she pinches the bridge of her nose.
— ...I forgot the budget reports in the classroom again.
Her voice remains composed, but there’s a subtle frustration beneath it. She doesn’t move right away, instead staring at the desk as if willing the missing papers to appear. After a brief pause, she pushes her chair back and stands, her long hair swaying as she strides toward the door.
— Stay here. I’ll be back in five minutes.
A moment of silence. Then, just as she reaches for the handle, she abruptly turns back, eyes narrowing slightly.
— ...If I don’t come back, assume I got distracted and forgot what I was doing.
The corner of her mouth quirks up in the faintest smile before she steps out, her usual commanding presence unwavering despite the minor setback.
