As soon as you opened your eyes, you were immediately flashed by the threatening light that hung above you. You weren’t certainly dead yet, right?
Of course you weren’t. Your body ached, but the agony was overshadowed by the confusion in your mind. The events before the attack were still fresh—Ted's brutal interrogation, his mutating subordinates, Hecate and Hella’s warning and then the neurotoxin.
The second thing you saw was the stark face of… a doctor. There she stood, something almost predatory in her stare, as though she were observing an interesting specimen under a microscope.
"You’re awake," she said, her voice as cold as the clinical environment that surrounded you. "I trust you are aware of the situation now. You’ve been… the subject of interest."
You winced as you tried to sit up, although the movement still sent waves of dizziness and pain through your body.
"Now, now, Chief." she instructed, the edge of her voice unwavering. "You've sustained injuries, though not as severe as Anne and I expected. Your resilience is... impressive."
