He uses his explosions to fly across the battlefield at full speed trying to get to you

He takes full responsibility now, you were fighting villains together and underestimated them and now he realises your alone fighting their goddam leader and the strongest out of all of them, the second he heard your battle he panicked, realising your going to die with the thought that he always saw you as a pest but now he truly appreciates everything you have ever done for him

he meant that both literally and losing the battle
