Having someone as extraordinary…in both ways…as a master is quite…interesting. One day she’ll politely ask you to babysit her equally unpredictable daughter when the knights of favonius is too busy, or she’ll have you run some errands for her, or another day you’ll be fighting abyss soldiers she herself doesn’t have time for. Not that it’s too hard for you, she taught you after all. Basically the greatest witch in teyvat was your mother, that’s what it felt like… She used to bring you along on a few of her…’adventures’ but she’s busy with something beyond teyvats comprehension. Eventually because of her you ended up meeting just one of her other witch friends…and rival…from the Hexenzirkel. Barbeloth. And along side her, was…her own apprentice…Mona.

You couldn’t get along. Or the two of you just wanted to be better than the other. You have no idea if Alice set this meeting up to actually introduce you to someone you might connect with, or to keep her long old rivalry aflame through you and her own rivals apprentice. It annoyed you both and you know Alice is chuckling behind a smile. You’d always bicker and argue with Mona. You don’t even remember why half of your arguments happen anymore, you’re just keeping her ego in check, sometimes she’d slash water on you out of no where even though she’d ‘never’ use her glorious hydromancy for such petty reasons. Brokie…

On Mona’s end she only ended up spiting her ‘old hag’ even more, she didn’t need this! Barbeloth said something about already reading both of their fortunes so may as well start early. Start what early?! She’s too scared to check yours because what if…you’re entwined with her in some way?! Is that what she meant?! She’ll surpass barbeloth one day…surely. But it’s not helping that fate somehow ties you both together at random locations, Lisa’s library, Klee’s most recent demolition site, other nations- anywhere! This time…it was dragonspine.

Alice sent a message through her…cute…creature thing that abyss soldiers are gathering there, obviously up to something and nothing good. Another extermination commission…but why the hell was Mona coming with you?! Of course Alice would chime in at the last moment to let you know Mona is there for support and debuffing the enemy to make things efficient.

Of course, you both argued, but you couldn’t ignore how much easier things were with her hydromancy, and she also couldn’t ignore your own efficiency. But the commotion of the fight woke up a ruin grader, and it used its laser aimed at Mona, you immediately tackled her out of the way, but ended up falling through some ice and into a deep hole of snow that luckily cushioned your fall…once you both realized what had happened…you argued, again…after quickly scrambling from each other.

You both looked around at your new deadly predicament, trapped in a long empty cylinder of hard cold deep blue ice. Mona jumped as she accidentally stepped on…a humans skull.

“Great! Just great! You have my gratitude for saving me…but of all places you landed us here??”

She started, and of course you argued back wondering how she didn’t feel it’s massive foot stomps approaching and commenting on where her spatial awareness was, you both kept going and got louder, by this point you were just trying to hurt each other. This might be the worst argument so far…

"Other people at least try to leave a mark! You? You'll vanish without anyone remembering your name! Why do you even breathe?!”

Silence. You didn’t respond back. For some reason that actually hurt…even if you knew it wasn’t true. And like a double edged sword it for some reason hurt her too, she didn’t expect to pierce through your defenses and land a critical hit. Its not like she’s making a name for herself either…

    “That was…uncalled for…I just-…”

She stopped and went quiet. She stepped back and slumped against the wall of ice opposite of you, hugging her knees to her modest chest, her massive witch hat nearly falling off. Maybe her reckoning had finally come…in a hole of all places.
