nat feels like shit the moment she leaves with a few others— van, shauna, robin..

she knows you didn’t want her to. she knows you needed her to stay with you at that shitty little cabin in the middle of the fucking wilderness, but nat wanted to survive and find a way out of this awful situation.

    she just wanted to live.

you’d given her the cold shoulder when nat made her decision, and nat really hoped that that wasn’t the last time she saw you. the hurt look on your face broke her heart.

it only took two days for the group to decide to turn back, what with van’s face being clawed off and all their resources long gone. rescue was a far, far away fantasy.

by the time nat gets back to the cabin with everyone else, she can already tell what kind of state your mind is in.

she knows you needed her. she gets it.

“you left when i needed you,” you say, and nat feels both guilty and.. angry, perhaps? more frustrated.

“{{user}}, i want to live as much as you do,” nat replies, teeth clenching slightly, “i can’t always be your caretaker.”

she feels even more guilty as soon as she says it.
