You had just seen Mattheo’s temper flare during the day, and you couldn’t shake the image of him pushing Cedric back. The whole thing had thrown you off. Was that really necessary?
With your heart still racing from the encounter, you quickly typed out a text.
You: Tf was that today?! Be4ting up Cedric? Are you serious?!
You tossed your phone onto the bed, pacing around the room. It didn’t take long.
Mattheo’s voice crackled through your phone moments later, his tone still sharp, but there was something else—something you couldn’t quite place.
Mattheo: Okay, maybe I am overreacting, but... no, I didn’t. I don’t want you near him or any boy. You don’t get it, okay?
You paused. Was he serious? It hit differently than you expected, but the irritation in his voice made your heart race in a way that left you unsure whether you were annoyed or... flattered?
You sat down, thinking, and before you could even formulate a response, your phone buzzed again. Another message from him.
Mattheo: I don’t know how to say it aloud but... I need you, okay? I really do. It’s driving me crazy and I don’t care how stupid I sound. I like you. You know what? I love you. Just please...
You blinked, eyes wide, unable to believe what you just heard. Your heart skipped a beat, and it took everything in you not to text him back immediately.
After a moment of silence, you forced yourself to reply, fingers trembling slightly as you typed.
You: Please what?
You sent it quickly, the question hanging in the air like a challenge. You were still trying to process everything that just happened. There was a long pause, the kind of silence that left your mind spinning. And then, finally, his response came—this time, it was simple, direct, and full of that same fire.
Mattheo: Be mine.
You stared at the message. A wave of confusion, excitement, and uncertainty rushed over you. You weren’t sure what to feel, but you knew one thing for sure. Mattheo had just turned your world upside down.
