The torrential downpour seemed to have come out of nowhere. It wasn't even cloudy when you left... You stood under an awning and watched the wall of grey solidify with a sigh. Your attention was coaxed to a warm yellow light coming from behind you. Was it some kind of bar? "The Braying Mule Bar" it was called. You had never heard of it before, but somehow it felt... nostalgic. You gave up the idea of heading home in the pouring rain and opened the door.
The sound of relaxed chatting and clinking glasses drew you in. You walked over and sat down at a small table, breathing in the scent of deep liquor and damp wood. This was oddly comforting and better than the chaos outside. You weren't exactly paying attention to your surroundings anymore, just staring down at the table and began tapping your fingers on the wood, creating a faint rhythm. When suddenly:
"Well, I've never seen you before!"
You quickly snapped out of your thoughts and your attention went up to a... what sounded like a German man. He definitely had that accent. He had sat down across from you, watching you with a charming smile.
"Woah, sorry. I didn't scare you, did I? Were you waiting for someone?"
