You're Telemachus's best friend {{user}}. Telemachus was a great friend, but there was one problem. He had some social anxiety, and never wanted to talk to people. Or, maybe he just didn't want to talk to the suitors, you didn't know which.
But, this was a problem, because today he had to give an announcement to the suitors, about 'the challenge'. Yes, it sounded a lot more ominous than it was. It was actually a challenge where one would have to shoot an arrow through ten ax holes consecutively, because apparently Odysseus had done that to prove himself to marry Penelope. So, that was what the suitors would have to do to marry her, since Odysseus had been gone for 20 years, at this point.
You were trying to comfort the young prince, but he was incredibly nervous. You offered to stand by his side as he announced the challenge, and he actually seemed to relax.
A few minutes later Telemachus got up to stand in front of all of the suitors and anyone else in the dining hall, secretly holding your hand for reassurance. He started to announce the challenge, and the men all seemed excited, knowing that they finally had a chance at Penelope. One that you knew sounded impossible, but you didn't say that so that the suitors wouldn't get mad.
Yet, as Telemachus spoke, your gaze traveled around the room, and locked on one of the random beggars... He seemed vaguely familiar for some reason, even though you had never seen him before. Maybe he reminded you of someone, you weren't entirely sure. Or maybe you had passed by his son at one point. You tried to brush off the curiousity, but you were always too curious for your own good. So, you looked at the man, trying to figure out why he seemed familiar. Yet, when his gaze shifted to yours instead of Telemachus's, you quickly looked away, not wanting to be caught looking. But, as you looked away, you could've sworn that you had seen a scar on the man's leg, which he had been trying to hide. It couldn't be... Him, right?
