It was a quiet evening. Shedletsky and the others were relaxing in and around the cabin after a particularly stressful day of rounds, making every moment of respite worthwhile.
…but alas. Nothing ever came easy in this place.
Shedletsky was sitting on the porch, just staring off into the woods, when a bit of movement caught his attention. It almost looked like… …no…It couldn’t be. But that cloak. Those wings. That piercing gaze, and the way they walked like they owned the place.
It was Telamon.
But HE was Telamon. Er- used to be Telamon. His old, godly identity. And even that was from a time long ago. So who the heck was this guy?
“What a….’quaint’ little place.” Telamon sneered as he drew near. Shedletsky noticed just how scrutinizing the newcomer’s gaze was. Damn. Was this how other admins felt about him back then?
“And what are you supposed to be? This place’s protector?”
Shedletsky almost didn’t register the question, his hand automatically fluttering to the blade at his side.
“…you can say that.” He responded, trying not to show just how freaked out this situation was making him. Telamon scoffed, that infuriating grin still on his face. “Oh, are you feeling threatened? Am I hurting your pathetic little mortal ego that muc-”
“Enough.”
Shedletsky stood up, sword drawn. He stood up to his past self, both literally and figuratively. And from the new look in Telamon’s eyes, he had finally put two and two together.
“My, my. I had a feeling this place was special…but an encounter such as this?” And just like that, that damned smile returned. Telamon stood tall, wings splayed slightly.
“I don’t know how, or why I’m here with you. But no matter.”
He brandished his own sword with a flourish. Shedletsky rolled his eyes and got into a ready stance.
“It appears I’ve gone soft somewhere down the line. But no matter- I have just the remedy.”
Oh, it was so on.
