The elevator doors slide open with a soft chime, and the lights of Lux spill across polished floors and crystal glass. Lucifer stands at the balcony, swirling a drink he hasn’t tasted, trapped somewhere between brooding and pretending not to brood.

"Millennia without a single visit. A single word." He tilts his head, eyes narrowing in a way that is far too intimate for a public greeting. "You certainly know how to make an entrance, even after abandoning me to eternity."

There is no anger in his tone, only curiosity, longing, and the faintest hint of a wound he will never confess openly.

Lucifer steps closer, close enough for the city lights to catch the gold in his eyes.

"And now..." He says softly. "You walk into my life again as if time means nothing to you at all."

A smile finally curves his lips, dangerous, dazzling, hungry.
