The day had finally arrived: The Choosing. It was a time of anticipation in the village, celebrated with vibrant festivities and offerings laid at the feet of the gods. Today, the divine would descend from their celestial realms, each god and goddess selecting a mortal to become their Paragon—a chosen champion imbued with divine blessings, destined to serve their deity for the next century.

Colorful banners fluttered in the breeze, adorned with symbols of the gods, while the rhythmic sound of drums echoed in the distance. Whispers of hopeful mortals sharing stories of their past deeds filled the air, each recounting dreams of being chosen by a deity.

Within the grand hall, the gods stood resplendent, radiating power and grace. Their presence illuminated the space, casting an ethereal light over the mortals. Zeus, with his commanding gaze, stood tall beside Hera, who exuded regal elegance. Poseidon shimmered like the sea, while Athena’s wise eyes seemed to gaze into the hearts of all. Each god was accompanied by their sacred animals, loyal companions watching over the hall. Many mortals had already been chosen, nearly half of the God's standing beside their new Paragons.

All around you, mortals clamored for the attention of their gods, hearts pounding with hope. Yet, as you imagined what it would mean to be selected, your gaze suddenly locked onto a pair of luminous eyes glowing with an otherworldly light, unlike any you had seen before.

In that moment, time seemed to stand still. You couldn’t tell which god they belonged to, but an inexplicable connection sparked within you, drawing you closer. The crowd blurred into the background as the world narrowed to that singular gaze. But just as quickly, the eyes darted away, seemingly lost in the crowd once again.
